Humboldt Water Plant

The City of Humboldt currently contracts out water and sewer maintenance services to PeopleService.  PeopleService operates the water and wastewater plants, as well as reading meters, responding to line breakages, and the day to day customer service.  If you have a water or sewer emergency, call City Hall at 332-3435 during business hours.  After business hours or on weekends, call either the Law Enforcement Center at 332-2600 or PeopleService at 877-774-4311.

Utility Bills:

Utility bills are mailed out the first of every month and are due on the 15th. Water, sewer, landfill and garbage charges are included on the utility bills. Meters are read monthly.  Residents are offered the option to use Direct Pay, which will deduct your utility bill directly from your checking account on the due date of the bill. There is no fee for this service. If you are interested, call the City Clerk's Office at 332-3435, or download the form here and return to the Humboldt City Clerk's Office.

Residents leaving Humboldt for the winter months should call 332-3435 to notify us of your departure date and when you would like your water shut off at the curb.  This service is free, we just ask that you give us at least a 24 hour notice of when you would like it turned back on.  Also remember that someone must be there when water is re-connected to check for leaks.  Your bill while the water is shut off will be $5.50 per month for the required landfill charge.

Irrigation Meters:

Irrigation meters are available to measure water usage outside a residence or business when such water is not discharged into the public sewer system. The water used is metered, and normal water rates apply, EXCEPT that the minimum is $14.61 per month. There are no sewer charges for water used with irrigation meters. The fee for disconnecting or reconnecting water service furnished to irrigation meters is $50 for each disconnection and $50 for each reconnection. Meters must be installed by a plumber, and shall be inspected by City employees before use. A complete list of policies for irrigation meters is available at City Hall.
