Humboldt is a small community at its best!
The City of Humboldt is a great place to live! It is a clean, safe town with wide streets, a dozen parks, walking trails, and many other amenities for citizens to enjoy. Due to its progressive, pro-development attitude, the city is still growing after 150 years. According to the Census, Humboldt has grown by more than 5% over the last 10 years. Humboldt provides exceptional opportunities for families and businesses alike. With a dozen major employers right in town, residents have a diverse set of employment options in the community. Additionally, the Humboldt Community School District is first class and continues to be a strong pull for new families to the area.

City Hall will be closed Thursday November 27, 2025 & Friday November 28, 2025 in Observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
We will re-open Monday December 1, 2025
Thursday & Friday trash & recycling will be picked up on Wednesday November 26, along with Wednesday route. The rest of the week will be on normal schedule.
The Humboldt-Dakota City Kiwanis Club invites the public to travel to Humboldt to see Kiwanis Christmasland, 407 1st Ave South, directly south of Humboldt City Hall, November 28th trhough December 24th. New video display boards, a children's ornament tree and updated decorations are among the improvements for 2025. The self-guided tour concludes with a visit from Santa Claus and a candy cane. The popular attraction is fun for young and old alike. Hours are Friday & Saturday evenings, 6:30 to 8:30p.m. and Saturday & Sunday afternoons, 2:30- 4:30 p.m.

Start off at the Livermore Legion located at 308 4th Ave. They will have hot cocoa & cookies! Then jump on a carriage ride through Candy Cane lane to see the lights & grab a goodie bag from Santa.
Saturday, December 13th, 2025 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
The lighted Candy Cane lane runs from dusk to dawn - Thanksgiving Day through the month of December. (602 2nd Ave Livermore, IA)
